You may or may not have heard, but browser based “bookmarks” or “favorites” are all but dead (at least in the “Internet World” aka” Da Internets”. Think about it: we send most of our time on our PDA’s and work PC’s, and our favorites are on our home computers.

There are three main problems with bookmarks today: Portability, Organization and Sharing. First problem – Portability – we create bookmarks at work, at home, on our PDA’s and are expected to waste our valuable time “syncing” everything together – who has the time to do this? Second Problem – Organization – After a while, your bookmark/favorites list becomes too large and unmanageable. Third Problem – Sharing – how many websites have you stumbled across that you would love to share with your friends – now think of the sharing process. Most of us are too lazy to email the link, so we either text it or we tell it to our friends verbally. If your friend loses their phone or deletes the text they have to ask you for the link again. If you tell it verbally to your friend they most likely will forget the link.

Most of these options are inconvenient or a pain in the ass. How can we find an easier way to manage and share our bookmarks?

That’s where Del.icio.us comes in. They can explain it wayyyy better than better than I can, so here’s what they do, straight from their site:
